Good posture is about more than standing up straight—it plays an important role in how your body feels and functions every day. Whether you’re working at a desk, running errands, or relaxing at home, small posture habits can add up over time. Making a few simple adjustments throughout the day can help reduce muscle strain, improve comfort, and support your overall well-being.
Keep your head up, shoulders relaxed, and let your arms swing naturally as you move throughout your day.
Keep your feet flat on the floor, avoid slouching, and sit upright with your back supported.
Bend at your hips and knees—not your waist—and keep items you’re carrying close to your body.
Bring your phone, computer, or other devices up to eye level so you’re not constantly looking down or hunching forward.
Roll your shoulders back and avoid hunching while cooking, working, or doing other everyday tasks.
No posture is healthy if you hold it for too long. If you sit for extended periods, stand up and stretch regularly. If you stand for long periods, shift your weight or sit down when you can.
Distribute your weight evenly on both feet and avoid locking your knees while standing.
Improving your posture doesn’t require a complete lifestyle change. By becoming more aware of how you sit, stand, and move throughout the day, you can reduce unnecessary strain on your body and feel more comfortable doing the things you enjoy.
