New Teladoc Registration Instructions

Teladoc Health recently updated its member registration process.

 
And while the new experience is clean and straightforward, there are a few things that group administrators, HR teams, and brokers should be aware of… especially when helping members who may have questions during registration.

We’ve put together a quick, 3-minute walkthrough of the process so you can see exactly what your members will experience.

What Will Members Experience?

The registration process follows a few simple steps:

1. Create their login.
Members select Register Now, enter the email address they’d like associated with their account, create a password, and accept the required terms.

2. Verify their email.
Teladoc may send a six-digit verification code to the email address provided. Members enter that code to continue.

3. Enter their eligibility information.
Members will be asked to provide their

• First name
• Last name
• Date of birth
• ZIP code

 
4. Confirm their coverage.
Teladoc checks that information against the eligibility on file. Once a match is found, the member will see the group providing their coverage and the Teladoc Health services available to them.

5. Complete their account setup.
From there, members provide the remaining information needed to finish setting up their account and can begin accessing their available services.

The experience is the same whether a member registers through the Teladoc Health website or mobile app.

The Most Important Thing to Tell Your Members

When Teladoc asks a member for their name, date of birth, and ZIP code, the information must match the eligibility information provided by their employer or organization.

This is the key step in connecting the member to the correct group and available services.

Members should also leave the box indicating that they do not have benefits through an employer or organization unchecked, since Teladoc needs to search for their employer-sponsored coverage.

What If Teladoc Can’t Find the Member?

If Teladoc cannot find the member’s information or prompts them to enter their health insurance information, they should stop the registration process and contact their HR team as soon as possible.

This means Teladoc was unable to match the member to their employer-sponsored eligibility. Their HR team can confirm the information on file and help determine what needs to be corrected before the member tries again.
